The Middle East Broadcasting Networks, Inc. (MBN) is seeking experienced Reporters in France, Germany, Morocco, Egypt, Jordan, Iraq, and the Gulf. Reporters will be responsible, but not limited to: generating original, balanced articles and other content for social media platforms to create discussion with the people of the Middle East and Northern Africa; creating content primarily focused on addressing fundamental issues affecting the Middle East and N. Africa, including but not limited to minority rights, women’s rights, sectarianism, economic underdevelopment, etc.; creating engagement content (polls, lists, surveys, interactive maps, data visualization) to complement articles; Conceiving and executing user-generated content (UGC) engagement campaigns on Facebook, Twitter and other social networking sites for participatory coverage. QUALIFICATION/EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS: • At least a BA, preferably in Journalism or a related field. • 5 – 10 years professional writing experience, preferably in editing, writing or translation. • Mastery of Arabic and ability to write for the Web effectively in Arabic. • Ability to translate English to Arabic and Arabic to English desirable. • Master use of WordPress, Facebook, Twitter, Google Cloud, Instagram and YouTube. • Competency in modern journalism tools including Facebook, Twitter, Skype, Google, and YouTube. Familiarity with photo and video software such as Adobe Photoshop, Adobe Premiere, and Final Cut Pro desirable. • A well-informed understanding of Middle East and N. Africa current events and familiarity with international news and developments. • Ability to provide a quality product under constant deadline pressures. • Understanding of social media analytics and using the data to enhance social performance. Ability to pull data for reporting Candidates with no experience in managing business social media platforms and can’t provide samples with references, will NOT be considered.
